PROPOSAL
DOG PARK IN CALGARY AB
Proposal to implement an off-leash dog park at 615 20 Ave NW, Calgary AB.
Addresses issues of current land misuse and availability of dog parks by proposing that 615 20 Ave NW become an official off-leash area.
This solution is ideal based on the site background, community demographics, current off-leash use and surrounding availability. The site meets City of Calgary off-leash requirements and can be implemented for a minor cost and within a reasonable timeframe.
NOTE: An off-leash park was introduced in this space in 2019, with the help of this proposal.
TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION
RETRACTABLE BALLPOINT PENS
Written as an assignment for Technical Writing I at Algonquin College.
This technical description provides the reader with a complete description of what a retractable ballpoint pen is and how it works. A definition and brief history is provided, along with a thorough description of the parts: two main components and ten sub-components. These parts work in conjunction to complete two processes vital to the operation of a retractable ballpoint pen. The workings of these processes are explained in detail.

LANARK ANIMAL WELFARE SOCIETY
This is a volunteer commission for the Lanark County Animal Welfare Society (LAWS).
LAWS had an outdated brochure that needed redesigning and the content updated. Using their website, the old brochure and some resources provided by the board, I put together a succinct portrait of an important community resource.

These two artist profiles were published in the 2014 Afrikadey Music Festival Program.
The writing process involved coordinating with publicists, artist interviews and creation of a polished finished product for readers who were not familiar with the artists.
